Music conductor and performer

Dennis Baldridge has been involved in music since his youth when he began playing piano. Later he studied trombone, playing in the local band and orchestra. Dennis earned his Bachelors degree in Music from Olivet University in 1976 having two applied areas of performance: piano and trombone.

Dennis enjoyed teaching and later earned his M.A.E. from Olivet University where he continued as adjunct faculty teaching church music and brass classes. Later, Dennis earned his PhD in Music from Louisiana Baptist University.

In 2001 Dennis began teaching various classes for the International Academy of Music in Indianapolis, IN. Classes currently include the following: Conducting, Music History, Music Ministry and Worship. He has also been conductor for Brass Ensembles, String Orchestra and the Concert Band. Starting in 2004, Dennis became the conductor of the String Orchestra. He is presently the artistic director for Gloria Choir.

Dennis has studied privately with two principal players of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra: Jay Friedman, principal trombonist and the late Arnold Jacobs. Both are musicians of world renown noted for their expertise in conducting, teaching and performance. Under the tutelage of these professionals, Dennis studied major orchestral works, performance technique and musical skills.

Dennis has also performed "on call" with the Madison, Symphony Orchestra, La Crosse Symphony, and is a former member of the Kankakee Symphony Orchestra. He also arranged and performed two solo selections with the Olivet University Concert Band.

Dennis and his wife Jane live near Hillsboro, WI where she is active teaching piano lessons.
